Who We Are
The Bentley Investment Group (BIG) is a student ran organization that is responsible for managing a portion of Bentley University’s endowment. The fund originated in 1997, with an original allocation of $250,000 and has grown to more than $2.7M under the group’s financial decisions.
The group’s goals are to achieve capital appreciation of the portfolio, while providing an educational experience to each member. BIG seeks to run as an equity fund focusing on investment exposure to intermediate and large capitalization companies that conduct business on a global scale. In addition, funds are allocated across seven industries.
Using an active fundamental investment approach, BIG aims to add value to the investment process by making active decisions in sectors and individual securities.

As a current Bentley student, all students can join on CampusGroups. This will add you to the email list which will remind you of all upcoming events and pitches. After a few events, you will be a general member!

To start, you need to be a general member for at least 1 semester. Then, at the beginning of each semester, sectors open for applications. Applicants submit (1) resume, (2) equity report, and (3) top 3 sector list. Applicants get screened and then interviewed by each sector.

Bentley Investment Group (BIG) operates as a long only equities fund. Our fund invests in public companies with market cap of $2B+, with the goal of holding investments for multiple years.

Although outside knowledge can be helpful, BIG does not require any prior knowledge. BIG has specific educational programs for varying ranges of skill level to develop all members. BIG welcomes all different types of skill levels, majors, and grade levels!
